Crazy lights

I've been wanting to do something with my daughter's Lite Brite since she received it for Christmas. For my first foray into LB-land since childhood, I simply (and purposely) randomly stuck the pegs in the panel without any plan for or thought of color arrangement. I used a zoom radial blur filter in Photoshop to create the headache-inducing effect. And this is it...

Manual setting: f/9, 1/13 second, ISO 100

  1. Garry & El just tried an experiment the other day with lights. He read about it online. Take a piece of black paper big enough to cover your lens and be rubber-banded in place, and cut a 1/2 to 3/4 inch shape out of the center (star, heart, moon, etc.). Fix the paper over your lens then shoot any subject with lights in the background (or foreground I guess) that are out of focus. Christmas lights were the example, but any light source is ok as long as it's out of focus. Could be really fun with a Lite Brite!
