Retaining wall

We have a retaining wall on the north side of our house that's made of railroad ties that are beginning to rot away. So the wall doesn't cave in, sending our house into the neighbors' pool, we are in the process of having the wall replaced - with a stone one that should last a looong time. This is the current wall. I'll post more photos as the work to replace it is in progress...

As a little side note, I am going out of town tomorrow - Miriam and I are going to visit my sister and her family, which includes my brand-spanking-new niece! I'll be taking photos but won't be posting them until after I return next weekend.

Catching up

Today - The Periodic Table may be the death of me before the summer is over! I started an 8-week-long chemistry class last night, and let's just say, it's been a looooong time since I've had chemistry!! I'm a little scared...

Cardinals vs. Rockies

We went to a Cardinals game today - Luis and a bunch of other kids from his school went on the field during the 7th inning stretch to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". Very cute, but unfortunately the Cards lost...

I bribed Miriam for some more photos today...

...but neither of us could remember what I'd promised her if she let me take some pics of her... Looks like I got the better end of that deal!

I really should shoot more flowers - it's so nice to have them in the house!

Today - The kids wanted me to buy them a coconut the other day at the store. I hate coconut. But I love my children. So I bought the coconut, and this is a close-up shot of it before we smash it open.

Packages

I spent, seriously, all day today on shipping and shipping-related activities (month-end reports, expense analysis, etc.)! These are the packages (15!) I put together to go out in the mail tomorrow. AND today was the first day of summer vacation for the kids...! I'm wrecked and off to bed!!
