Well, I figured it would happen, but I was hoping it wouldn't be this early in the year... Everything seems to be coming to a head (classes and studying; taking care of the house, kids, dog, husband; part-time work; photography; etc., etc., etc.), and I can't seem to do any one thing as well as I would like. It's time for me to "clean house", and for the moment, the daily photo has to go while I better prioritize the rest of my life. Hopefully I'll find myself with time here and there when I have a chance to pick up my camera - I'll post photos then. But at this point I don't know when that'll be...
(I would like to take a moment to thank Kristy Johnson for all the wonderful, supportive comments she's made about my photos since the beginning of the year... Kristy, I always looked forward to seeing what you thought about each photo I posted, and your comments meant a lot to me. Thank you!!)

The "eyes" have it
Miriam has the most beautiful, expressive brown eyes. Of course, being her mother, I'm probably a bit biased...

Bubbles
A close-up of soda bubbles on a straw. The blue color is from the placemat that was under the glass on the table.

"I'll stop the world and melt with you..."
"I Melt With You" by Modern English is one of my all-time favorite songs. When I decided to let some ice melt tonight to see what photos I could make of it I didn't even think of the song. But ever since I returned to the ice to photograph it the song has been stuck in my head...

Finally done...
I'm way too anal retentive to actually leave soap suds and the sponge in the sink, but there's just something about this photo that pleases me. Maybe it's the knowledge that the dishes are finally done and the kitchen cleaned up...

Brilliance?
Today's Daily Shoot assignment was to make a photo of a symbol that represents or stands for something else. I chose to go with the "environmentally conscious idea"...

Framed!
"The Daily Shoot" (www.dailyshoot.com) is a website I came across that gives an "assignment" every day for photos to take. When I think of it, or when I'm feeling particularly uninspired and I think of it, I check out the daily assignment. Today's assignment was to make a photo with some sort of frame. I decided to use my glasses as the frame and, thinking more of the process rather than the subject, I shot an orange through them. I like the texture of the orange in the photo, but other than that, I think it's kind of a "blah" photo. But this did give me some ideas of other photos I want to try so all is not lost...
